Duelo comunitario por la muerte de “Morocha”García

Fue una destacada vecina de Vicente Casares, recordada por su incansable labor en el ámbito educativo

El Gobierno Municipal lamenta el fallecimiento de Elba Lydia García, cariñosamente apodada “Morocha”, ocurrido en el día de la fecha a la edad de 96 años.

Morocha García fue una destacada vecina de Vicente Casares, recordada por su incansable labor en el ámbito educativo y su compromiso con el bienestar de su comunidad.

Su carrera docente fue notable; se desempeñó como maestra y directora en la Escuela 17, dejando una profunda huella en la vida de innumerables estudiantes. Además, cofundó la Biblioteca Ateneo Juvenil, creando un espacio que promovía el acceso a la literatura y el aprendizaje para los jóvenes de la localidad.

En paralelo a su carrera educativa, Elba militó en la política, y fue elegida como consejera escolar por la UCR en 1991. Su dedicación al bienestar infantil se evidenció en su papel como orientadora distrital del Plan Nacional de Alfabetización en 1988, bajo el gobierno de Raúl Alfonsín, y como directora de la Casa del Niño Laura Vicuña.

En su homenaje la intendenta Marisa Fassi decretó 48 horas de Duelo Comunitario, expresando sus condolencias a su hija Mabel, familiares y amigos.
